Why are there so many recruiters?
You upload your CV on a job site and 5 seconds later you’re bombarded with calls from a thousand different recruiters offering you jobs. Well I do anyway as my CV and experience are sensational. This would be great but these jobs aren’t normally great or even tolerable.
The question is though, why are there so many of these bastards hanging around nowadays? Is recruitment really that profitable?
Recruitment is profitable
Recruitment is a very profitable industry if you do it right. If you create an agency and get good clients then you can easily keep the money rolling in. People are always going to be looking for jobs so there are always new opportunities popping up.
You don’t even have to be a big agency to make money, in fact, it benefits you to stay small. That way there will be less rats to pay and you get a bigger cut of the profits.
It’s recession-proof
Even in the worst economic times, people are always going to be looking for jobs, and companies are going to have roles available. The type of companies that have roles available and the type of people who need jobs will change, but there will always be a market.
That means it’s a good business to set up. It’s not like it takes too much work either…
