Why don’t they like me at work?

I’m probably more disliked at work than I ever have been before, and whilst that can cause some problems, it’s a good thing. It’s a good thing because it’s a sign that I’m being more authentic.

They don’t like authentic people in the workplace, they would rather be around robotic people that agree with everything they say and fake laugh at all their mundane jokes.

No one likes to be disliked, including myself, but in the workplace… it’s not so bad. I’ve had enough of people’s weird temperaments at work, so I just do my own thing.

Being authentic

Being authentically yourself doesn’t mean being obnoxiously yourself as some people are. I don’t shove my opinions down people’s throats and I’m not rigid for the sake of it. But I do refuse to compromise who I am as a person.

I will not be a person that I don’t like just to fit in with people that I don’t like, it just doesn’t make sense logically. And I won’t change who I am just to appease the many emotionally disturbed people I meet in the workplace.

When people aren’t desperate for their approval in the workplace they get scared and don’t know what to do. This person isn’t pretending to like them and treats them like the acquaintance they are. What happened to work family?
