Why I might stay in England

It’s no secret that I am not satisfied living in the UK, one of my most popular posts on Medium is about why I want to leave. But I don’t want to leave if I don’t have to, I would like to find a compromise where I could stay.

This post was supposed to be a response to my post about wanting to leave the UK. I felt bad about some of the things I wrote so I wanted to write about things I like in the UK. Whilst I do like many things about the UK I can’t lie to myself. I still want to leave and I not going to pretend otherwise.

People always say “The grass isn’t always greener” but I don’t want to leave because I think other countries are perfect and the UK is a shithole. I want to leave because living here makes me feel empty. There are cultural/lifestyle differences that I, and many others can’t stand, and no amount of mindset changes will solve anything.

I’ve tried to be grateful and I’ve tried to integrate with the culture (lol I was born here) and it doesn’t work.

The Midlands or a girlfriend could be the answer

The only things I could see keeping me here are moving to the Midlands and it being a success or getting a girlfriend who wants to stay here. I like the Midlands and I visit a lot to destress from living in Gloucestershire, but living there will of course…
