Why I no longer want to live in the UK

I am born and bred in the UK, but I’ve never really liked it here that much. Don’t get me wrong it is liveable, but that’s as good as it gets. Some would say this attitude makes me British as most people say they don’t like it here. But I feel like most people don’t like it here for superficial reasons like the weather.

I don’t like it here because I don’t fit in and I don’t think I ever will. I also don’t see any value for money when it comes to places to live and this country is in its next phase of decline.

I don’t relate to many people

I’ve never related to the British mentality which has meant that it has been hard to maintain close friends. I can make friends as I’m a decent person who doesn’t take myself too seriously, but I don’t want to do many of the things British people like to do.

I can’t stand pubs, there I said it

I would never say this out loud but I don’t get pubs. I think most of them are depressing and attract the worst types of people. They’re good for events, but I only enjoy them occasionally, I couldn’t go there all the time like some people do.

Pubs are stuck in the 80s and have a weird boring atmosphere. Anytime I’ve mentioned I don’t go to pubs a lot to pub people they look at me like…
