Would it make more financial sense to move abroad?
I think this is a question that’s on a lot of people's minds at the moment — people in the UK at least anyway. People are struggling here due to the high inflation and stagnant wages… and their spending habits.
But let's remove accountability here and focus on inflation and low wages. The UK still has some of the highest wages in Europe, but Europe as a whole is in decline and most places aren’t worth living unless you’re already well off.
People like Europe due to aesthetics, it’s not a practical place to live at all if you want to live a fulfilling life that involves more than cafes and racism.
Every year it seems like things are getting more and more expensive, and despite all my efforts to make money my income stays pretty much the same. It’s gotten to the point where I think I have to move abroad for my future, and not only due to the cost of living, but due to workplaces in the UK as a whole.
The UK is almost unlivable for me as I have received extreme hostility in the workplace which has cost me my job multiple times this year. If I left the UK and went somewhere where the people have brain cells then I’d fair much better.
