You don’t know what you want in a relationship because you live in idealism
Idealism
Noun
The unrealistic belief in or pursuit of perfection.
“the idealism of youth”
We live in a world of idealism. It’s not bad to want things to work well, but realistically it’s not possible, that’s why it’s called idealism. The world is full of problems and your idealism is one of them. People would rather fake perfection than actually strive for it, but that’s another story.
When it comes to relationships, some people want it all.
Women want a strong masculine guy who’s not masculine and someone who won’t show any emotions but is open about their emotions. Men want a traditional woman who can also provide for herself and someone who can look after themselves but still needs to rely on them.
The worst case of idealism is someone who wants a person with no flaws. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and no one can live up to all of our expectations all the time. Some people don’t get that and still expect a superhuman to drop out of the sky one day.
This is causing a lot of people to remain single as they’re looking for a person who doesn’t exist. If they do, there are probably only a few of them on the planet and they most likely aren’t going to date them.
High-quality people date high-quality people, not average people with inflated egos.
