You’re not ambitious, just because you moved to a major city

ambition: a strong desire to do or achieve something.

Something that makes me cringe out of my skin is when people move to a major city and think that automatically makes them ambitious. That’s all really, there isn’t much else to say.

Just because you moved to a bigger place with more to do, doesn’t mean that you’re a go-getter, most people move so they can enjoy more leisure, not so they can achieve anything. Then you have people who move to these places because they think it’s what they’re supposed to do, a great reason to make any decision.

People are also confused about what real ambition is. They think looking successful is the goal, but I guess that is a form of ambition. You have a desire to achieve the image of someone who’s achieved something.

You’re not more open-minded just because you moved to a big city

Just because you moved to a big city doesn’t mean that you’re a more open-minded person. You might be more open-minded than the people in the place where you come from, but in some cases that’s not saying much, some people come from villages that haven’t escaped the 1800s.
